World governments ignore the drowning deaths of free-living animals in water canals for irrigation and other human uses. At same time, the climate crisis is intensifying the artificial supply of water and its threats to wildlife, especially in the arid and semi-arid regions of the planet. In this series of stories, we tackle the problem in various countries and point to solutions.
